This picture was taken in the early 1900's (abt 1907) on the porch
of my grandfather's (Thomas Judson Dedmon) general store in Houston Valley
(Catoosa, County, GA), not far from Taylor's Ridge, where the Dedmon
cemetery is located. The baby in the back row is my uncle James, held by his
mother, Alice Walker Dedmon. Thomas Judson is standing by them (leaning on
the left side of the end post ). Luther Dickson is standing on the right
side of the post. The older lady on the back left is Mary Wells Dedmon (The
second wife of William D. Dedmon). Sam Wells is on the left side of the 3rd
post from the left and on the left of him is Molly Ware. Alice Wells is on
the right side of the post. Sitting on the front row below that same post is
George Dickson, (my grandfather). Some of the other people are thought to be
the children and grandchildren of William D. Dedmon. The building no longer
stands and the road that passed by has been re-routed.
